A total of 871 HIV/AIDS cases were recorded by the Department of Health in February. 20 cases were acquired through contaminated needles while two cases came from mother to child transmission. What’s alarming is that sexual contact was accounted for 841 new cases of HIV.
Because of this, the DOH encouraged the Filipinos to get tested. Health Secretary ensured that they are ready to provide counseling and anti-retroviral treatment.
