Say goodbye to your eyeglasses and contact lenses because Israel’s Shaare Zedek Medical Center and Bar-Ilan University have new research to improve one’s vision. Eye drops infused with nanoparticles that treat both near- and far-sightedness were engineered by a team of ophthalmologists from these institutes.

The treatment process involves three steps wherein the patient first measures his or her eye refraction with the use of a smartphone app. Then, doctors will map a laser pattern onto the corneal surface of the eyes which takes less than a second. After this, the patient can now use the eye drops that contain nanoparticles.
